KINGMAN - Whether you're looking for something spooky or just a sugar rush, there are plenty of Halloween activities lined up for this month.
This Saturday, expect blood, gore and brains as the Second Annual Zombie Walk shuffles to non-life at 5:45 p.m. at Locomotive Park. Zombie face painting and dessert will be available for $5 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Siren's Café and Custom Catering, 419 E. Beale St.
At 6 p.m., grab a can or box of non-perishable food and crawl on back to the Mother Road Vintage clothing store, 102 E. Beale Street, for the Halloween Hunger Bash. The cost is $5 with a food item and $7 without a food item. Hot dogs, chips, drinks, music and raffles will be available for a small donation. The spookiness for the little goblins and ghosts continues Oct. 26 with Kingman's seventh annual Fall Festival from 1 to 5 p.m. at Centennial Park.
The event includes a youth costume contest, a cupcake walk, game booths, candy in the hay contest, a pie eating contests, arts and crafts, hay rides, entertainment and food booths.
The costume contest awards will be given out to the top three winners in each age division. The age divisions are: 3 to 4, 5 to 6, 7 to 8 and 9 to 12. Categories include: Most Creative, Most Traditional, Most Animated (a cartoon character class for those ages 3 to 8 years) and Scariest for those ages 9 to 12.
Tickets to the Fall Festival are $4 pre-sale and $5 at the event. Pre-sale ticket will be available starting Monday. For more information, contact Kingman Parks and Recreation Department at (928) 757-7919.
Parks and Recreation is also holding a Halloween Coloring Contest this month. Coloring sheets are available at the Recreation Department and local schools. Entries must be completed with crayons or colored pencils - no markers. All forms must be returned by 5 p.m. Oct. 22 to the Recreation Department, 3333 Harrison St.
The hair-raising fun ends Oct. 31 with the Kingman Boys and Girls Club's annual Haunted House. The event is free and starts at 5 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club, 301 N. First Street.
Then head down to Beale Street for the Route 66 Cruizers Car Club's 12th Annual Halloween Bash, which also starts at 5 and runs until 8 p.m. All kids need to be accompanied by an adult. Pets, alcohol and drugs are not welcome. Free to all kids. Adults wanting to participate need to bring eight to 10 bags of candy for the kids.
