Obituary: Hazel Mazy

Hazel Irene Mazy was born Feb. 27, 1920, of Katherine and William Duff of Staunton, Va.

She was preceded in death by her son, William C. Pepper of Eatonville, Wash., and her husband, John Mazy of Buffalo, N.Y. She is survived by one grandson, John L. Pepper, and two great-granddaughters, Madison R. Pepper and Avery M. Pepper of Graham, Wash.

Hazel was a long-time charter member of the Chamber of Commerce in Dolan Springs and held the offices of treasurer and secretary. She was a member of the Catholic Church in Dolan and has a Jubilarian Award for over 20 years of service to the St. Vincent De Paul Society. She and her husband donated their bodies to Life Legacy in Tucson, with body ashes in Chloride Cemetery.

She and John moved to Dolan Springs in 1977 after a life lived all over the USA and Europe; she loved this small town atmosphere. Hazel was a warm and inspiring individual and I feel very blessed to have known her. We will miss you, Dear One.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Our Lady of the Desert Church, 15385 Pierce Ferry Road, Dolan Springs.
