On Sept. 21, the Third Annual Pitchin' For Cancer Horseshoe Tournament was held in Centennial Park. Seventeen two-person teams participated in the event, with 70 percent of the entry fees donated to the Kingman Cancer Care Unit. Kingman Elks Lodge No. 468 was in partnership in the event, and cooked and sold hamburgers to members of the public attending the tournament. All the money after expenses will be donated to the Cancer Care Unit. Also at the event was a pink event sponsored by Kingman Cancer Care Unit and the city of Kingman, which featured drawings for a barbecue built by inmates at the local prison and a chance to name the new pink police car. Shown (left to right) are: Larry Dubay and Mark McLenman (in pink), one of the two-person teams participating in the tournament.
