KINGMAN - On July 26, the Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce held the 37th Annual Andy Awards at the Beale Street Celebrations in downtown Kingman to honor individuals and organizations in Kingman who have made a difference in our community.
Nominations were judged anonymously by a panel of individuals from outside Mohave County.
Tom Erickson with Video Images was the master of ceremonies for the evening, with awards being presented by the sponsors of each category.
Business of the Year: Sponsored by Mission Bank. It was awarded to Kingman Transportation Service.
Educator of the Year: Sponsored by WAVE JTED. It was awarded to Jean Meersman.
Student of the Year: Sponsored by Taco Bell. It was awarded to Haley J. Moore.
Most Improved Commercial Property: Sponsored by the Kingman Airport Authority. It was awarded to Cantrell Development.
Public Service Award: Sponsored by Nucor Bar Mill Group. It was awarded to Gary Watson.
Citizen of the Year: Sponsored by Frontier Communications. It was awarded to Mark Wimpee Sr.
Organization of the Year: Sponsored by Mohave State Bank. It was awarded to Route 66 Trailblazers Rotaract.
Lifetime Achiever: Sponsored by The Garlic Clove. It was awarded to Pat Mullen.
In addition, Nucor Bar Mill Group won Chamber Member of the Year; Ambassador of the Year was awarded to Linda Owens; and the Chamber Executive Award was presented to Dora Manley.
