The citizens of Kingman celebrated a cleaner community, just in time for the Route 66 Festival, as more than 400 pre-registered volunteers partnered with the city of Kingman, CARE from the Chamber of Commerce, and River Cities United Way on Aug. 9 to clean litter and debris on both adopted and unadopted streets. "Day of Caring," as it's called, involved both children and adults, companies and individuals alike. These volunteer teams filled trash bags that were then tied off and left curbside to be collected by the Kingman Department of Public Works.
Plenty of water was on hand to keep teams hydrated, donated by Coca Cola and National Bank of Arizona, with breakfast provided by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
River Cities United Way would like to extend a well-deserved thank you to each of the participants as well as those who donated to the program.
