Letter of thanks: Food bank has a huge list of donors

A sincere thank you from myself, Betty Kahlor, director, all the volunteers and board members for all the monetary and food donations received this past fiscal year ending June 30.

Without the help of businesses and citizens of our wonderful community, we would not have been able to distribute over a million pounds of food to the community. I have always said this is the most giving community in the state and the statement has proven true again this year.

With the food donations from St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance, Smith's, both Safeway stores, Bashas', Walmart, McKee Foods (Little Debbies), the food drives such as the schools, Realtors and associates, postal employees, the discounts given on services, and all others who donated to us, we were able to provide food to 16,277 families with 34,543 individuals within these families. In addition, we were able to donate 305,511 pounds to other agencies such as Cornerstone Mission and churches to help in their food ministries.

Our list of donors is much too big to publish every name, but you know who you are and please accept my thanks. You all are a very special group of people who care and share so that others can eat. We are so blessed to have each of you in our community. St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance in Phoenix, thank you sincerely for the deliveries of food each Thursday.

I also want to thank the volunteers and board members past and present who give so freely of their time, never asking for nor expecting anything in return. You are what makes the food bank the success it has become over the years.

Thank you!

Betty Kahlor, Executive Director
