Lady Bulldogs rebound with three wins

KINGMAN - Coming off their first loss of the season Tuesday against Parker, the Kingman High Lady Bulldogs basketball team responded with three wins.

Kingman (5-1, 3-1 Division II) took down the Knights in Lake Havasu Thursday in a regular season game, 48-42. The Lady Bulldogs led 39-27 at the end of the third quarter.

Desirae Gonzalez led Kingman with 24 points. Mckell Old Bull finished with 10.

The Lady Bulldogs won twice at the River Valley Shootout Friday. Kingman defeated Las Vegas Agassi Prep, 48-40. Gonzalez poured in 26 and Courtney Mossor finished with eight.

The Lady Bulldogs then faced off with Kingman Academy and rolled the Lady Tigers, 53-10. Academy did not get on the scoreboard until the third quarter. Gonzalez led with 27 and Carly Lawrence scored nine.

Lee Williams was also at the tournament. The Lady Vols lost to Havasu on Friday, 53-29.

No further information from the tournament was available by deadline.


Kingman still perfect

KINGMAN - The Kingman Bulldogs are now 4-0 after their 6-3 win at Lake Havasu Thursday.

Lake Havasu led 1-0 and 2-1, but couldn't keep the Bulldogs at bay. Chandler Baca led Kingman with a hat trick, scoring three goals. Taylor Ferrin, Jay McNiven and Manuel Tadeo scored for Kingman and also recorded assists.

The Bulldogs also won on Tuesday at Wickenburg, 5-1. Tadeo, Alonzo Garcia and Justin Yarush each scored a goal, and Ferrin found the net twice.

Kingman next plays at River Valley at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Lee Williams had its match at Mingus in Cottonwood postponed due to snow Thursday. The match should be rescheduled some time in January.

The Vols host pool play during the Mohave County Tournament Thursday through Saturday at LWHS and Kingman High.
