Letter: Patients deserve respect, not the runaround

I speak for all the people who see pain management or mental health professionals: We are tired of the whole medical politics and nonsense we have to go through!

The doctors either don't bother to see us or even show up when we come for an appointment. Especially when we have a referral to see a specialist for headaches, pain or mental health.

Our time is just as important as yours, so remember to keep the appointment that you set us up with. We at least deserve that much respect. And we don't like being put on hold for 20 minutes on the phone or waiting in the waiting room for two stinking hours before being seen by a doctor.

Also, medicine seems to be harder and harder to get at the pharmacies. When your pharmacy doesn't have it, they tell you to try somewhere else. Then we are called "pharmacy shoppers" and no one will fill the meds! Then we go without for weeks. It sure takes "management" away from "pain" when you can't get all your meds together!
