KINGMAN - The Mohave County Grand Jury on Thursday did something it hasn't done in quite some time - indict a man for running a meth lab.

Randall Anthony Turner, 53, allegedly had a pound of the drug in his possession when law enforcement officers served a search warrant at his Golden Valley home in the 3000 block of U.S. 93 on Dec. 2.

Members of a multi-agency task force and the Mohave County Sheriff's Tactical Operations Unit also allegedly recovered a working methamphetamine lab, which prompted a response from a number of agencies, particularly those with teams trained to handle hazardous materials. An ounce of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a number of handguns and long guns were also allegedly recovered at Turner's home.

Already under indictment from another search in February in which Turner was allegedly in possession of three ounces of

methamphetamine and items linked to a number of burglaries.

The grand jury handed down a seven-count indictment charging Turner with manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of equipment or chemicals or both for the manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of misconduct involving weapons.

Turner remains in jail, where he will be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Friday, when all arraignments will be held unless otherwise noted.
