KINGMAN - Everybody loves a Christmas feast with ham and turkey, mashed potatoes and all the trimmings, topped off with apple pie and ice cream - as long as they don't have to do any cooking or cleaning.

Christmas dinner is a family tradition that requires a lot of work. That's why an increasing number of American families are ditching home to dine out.

To lessen holiday stress and relieve the family chef, a number of restaurants in Kingman are staying open on Christmas Day and offering special meals and buffet menus that will satisfy everyone's taste.

"We'll be busy," said Cari Bergman, manager of Golden Corral Buffet in Kingman. "It's a family environment, somewhere people can go and have a good meal. Not everyone has family nearby. They're welcome to spend Christmas with us."

Some restaurants are serving brunch, some dinner and some both. It's advisable to call for reservations.
