Michael Lee Curtis Sr. left this earth on Dec. 20, 2013 after a lengthy illness.
Mike was born to Concie L. and Ilene M. Curtis on March 3, 1953 in Topeka, Kan.
Their family settled in Kingman in 1970 while Michael was serving his country doing submarine duty for the U.S. Navy. After his discharge from the Navy, he too, settled in Kingman.
Mike's parents, brother Dan and son Michael Jr. (Mikey) precede him in death.
He is survived by his brother, Ray; sisters, Renee, Opal and Wanda; sons, Matthew and Aaron; and daughter, Amber.
Music was a very important part of Michael's life. He was blessed with a keen, natural sense of rhythm and was given his first set of drums as a young teenager. The drums became his life and he excelled in his musical journey. Mike shared his talents with rock and country bands throughout Arizona, southern California and Nevada.
It was only when he became too ill to play that he gave up his beloved drums and settled for enjoying his favorite musicians on television, video, DVD and CDs.
So, in Michael's memory, crank up the music and let the beat and lyrics flow. We'll miss you, we love you and with drums and daisies, we'll meet you on the other side. Rock on!
