Woman rescued while climbing near Lake Havasu City

LAKE HAVASU CITY - Mohave County Search and Rescue units rescued a Lake Havasu City woman Sunday after she became stuck on a ledge while hiking.

Rennie Johnson was stuck on a ledge about 30 feet from the ground while free climbing, according to Mohave County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Trish Carter.

Members of Search and Rescue, along with members of the Lake Havasu and Desert Hills fire departments, rappelled to the woman and brought her to safety, said Carter in a statement.

Johnson and a friend were hiking in the Craggy Wash area north of Lake Havasu City when she became stuck at about 2:30 p.m. No injuries were reported.
