KINGMAN - Dolan Springs resident Jay Fleming captured this dust storm that blew into the community shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday.
"It looked like the ones you see in Phoenix," he said.
The intense dust storms are carried on an atmospheric gravity current and are common throughout the world in arid environments.
Taking shelter during a haboob is strongly advised, as the wall of dust can cause eye and respiratory problems.
Today's Mohave County forecast called for some wind - gusts of up to 25 mph - although it's expected to lessen as the weekend approaches.
