Woman hit by KFD truck dies

KINGMAN - The pedestrian who was struck by a Kingman Fire Department pickup Monday morning has died of her injuries.

Emily Jeanne McDonald, 75, of Kingman died at University Medical Center on Wednesday.

McDonald was walking across Stockton Hill Road from east to west in a marked crosswalk at about 9:25 a.m.

KFD Battalion Chief Bill Johnston, in his staff vehicle, made a left turn from Kingman Regional Medical Center on a green light when he struck McDonald, who fell back and hit her head on the ground.

The pedestrian sign was reportedly red.

Johnston immediately rendered medical help, and McDonald was ultimately brought to Las Vegas.

No citations were issued and the accident remains under investigation, according to Mohave County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Trish Carter.
