MOHAVE VALLEY - Mohave County Sheriff's detectives declined to arrest a Mohave Valley man who shot and killed another man Saturday, reportedly in a dispute over a motorcycle in what may be a case of self-defense.
Michael Evan Fusting, 33, told detectives on Wednesday that he shot Joseph Raymond Farmer, 37, after Farmer and two women pelted him and his truck with rocks.
Farmer was brought to Valley View Medical Center by his girlfriend and his sister and died from a single gunshot wound to the chest Saturday afternoon.
The men were embroiled in a dispute over a motorcycle and Farmer was reportedly looking for Fusting. He found him in the 5100 block of Pasadena Road, where the shooting occurred.
Detectives on Tuesday were taken to Golden Shores, where they found Fusting's vehicle and the gun they believe was used in the shooting.
They also found Fusting, who allegedly told them Farmer and two women began throwing rocks at his truck, breaking a window and hitting him with rocks before he fired a single shot into Farmer and drove away.
Mohave County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Trish Carter said detectives will continue the investigation and hand over the results to the Mohave County Attorney's Office. Attorneys will review the report and determine whether to file charges.
