This letter is in response to the letter to the editor from P. Simmons about the letter from Ms. Samoska.
The embarrassment is not that a French television crew showed up to film the weeds in the Kingman area, but rather that we have a City Council and county supervisors who don't care about how we have to put up with this problem.
In San Bernadino County, Calif., if a property owner does not keep their property clean, the county hires people needing work to clear the ground and bills the cost back through taxes to the owner of the property. This is a win-win for everyone. It gives work to those needing a job, clears out a fire hazard and upgrades the community.
I wish I had seen the film crew that P. Simmons wrote about because I would have loved to have been able to talk to them. Seems there are way too many in our community that take no pride in what they own. That truly is the embarrassment.
