Kingman letter: What the traffic will bear

I heard on the news a few days ago that the airline profits are really soaring. What else is new? Now they are talking about charging for soda. They are charging for carry-on bags and luggage. On overseas flights some are charging $400 a bag. That is outrageous.

It is nothing but pure and simple greed. About the only thing that is left that is free is the restrooms. The way they are going, they may start charging to use them.

As I have said before, the airlines will get whatever the traffic will bear. If people are willing to put up with this, they will keep on charging for all of these things. The airlines go with the theory that they get you from point A to point B in a few hours.
