Arthur Lloyd Nave, Sr., age 58, of Mountain Home, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at his home following an illness.
Art was born Nov. 25, 1955, in McAlester, the son of Dewey Eldon and Jean Ann Nave. He joined the U.S. Army Sept. 30, 1974, and served five years. He married Mary Dowe in 1976 and they had seven children. Art worked with the Mohave County Sheriff's Office in Arizona as a deputy sheriff. He retired after 20 years with MCSO.
Art's hobbies included traveling, fishing, hunting, spending time with his family and spoiling his German Shepard, Vander.
Art is survived by his children, MSgt Leslie (Jon) Barnes, MSgt Linda and (Rande) Schulze, Charles Nave, Rev. Arthur Nave, Jr., Laura (Richard) Gosser, Lois (David) Walters, Joseph (Emily) Nave, and Vander his dog. Art is also survived by his siblings; Naomi (Joseph) Kuster, Phyllis (Dick) Welch, Dale (Karen) Nave, John (Juliet) Nave, Cecil (Myra) Nave, Ron (Joy) Nave, Sharon (Leon) Broyles, Howard (Amy) Nave and 12 grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Mary.
A celebration of his life will be held in Kingman on May 3, 2014, and another in McAlester, Okla., on May 10, 2014. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel in Mountain Home.
