KINGMAN - Motorists traveling north of Wikieup on U.S. 93 anytime over the next year and a half can expect delays as a $20 million widening project begins Tuesday. The three-mile project between mileposts 101 and 104 includes turning the segment into a four-lane divided highway. A barrier wall will be installed on the southbound lanes Tuesday through Thursday and crews will prepare for material and equipment.
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises travelers to add 10 to 15 more minutes to their travel time, more during special events. The normal construction schedule is 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Work should finish sometime during the summer of 2015, according to ADOT.
