The Sounds of Kingman could be heard at Metcalfe Park Sunday afternoon when the classic rock band Monkey Biz'nezz kicked off the 2014 season of the nonprofit's Concerts in the Park series. Scores of people ventured to the free concert on a pleasantly warm and windless afternoon. Mission Bank, as it has since the Sounds of Kingman began three years ago, sponsored Sunday's concert. Mark your calendars, because next up is the West Coast Travelers from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. May 18, followed by Aces from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. June 22 and North Country Music at the same time on July 20. The Garlin Hackney Bank is featured Aug. 16 - a Saturday and in conjunction with the International Route 66 Festival. The Kingman Concert Band performs at 2 p.m. Sept. 28 and the season concludes from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 19 with Polka Katzen. For more information, visit www.soundsofkingman.com.
