KINGMAN - The Dolan Springs man who was arrested Oct. 4 for allegedly stabbing and beating a woman who tried to break off their relationship was indicted on attempted first-degree murder charges Thursday.

Davie Kuihana Ahuna, 30, was allegedly driving an SUV on U.S. 93 while attacking his 25-year-old passenger.

An alert motorist called 911 to report the incident and Mohave County Sheriff's deputies and officers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety pulled over Ahuna at milepost 54.

The woman reportedly told deputies that Ahuna attacked her when she tried to break off their engagement.

She said she was "knocked out" several times while he was punching her in the face. Law enforcement alleges Ahuna stabbed the woman in the leg and threatened to kill her.

He reportedly told deputies the woman, who was transported to Kingman Regional Medical Center, injured herself in a fall.

The grand jury returned an indictment on one count of attempted first-degree murder by domestic violence, one count of kidnapping and two counts of aggravated assault by domestic violence.

Ahuna will be arraigned at the jail at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Judge Derek Carlisle was assigned the case.

All arraignments will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the jail unless otherwise noted.

The grand jury also indicted:

• Gerry Allen Villalobos: Leaving the scene of an accident involving death or injury.

Judge Steven Conn was assigned the case.

• Sharon Marie Mercurio: Aggravated assault.

Judge Lee Jantzen will arraign her at 9 a.m. Oct. 28.

• Rudy A. Aguilar: Theft of means of transportation, unlawful flight from pursuing law enforcement vehicle, misconduct involving weapons, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Carlisle was assigned the case.

• Julie Lynn Asper: Aggravated assault by domestic violence and attempted aggravated assault by domestic violence.

Conn was assigned the case.

• Mark Robert Hubbard: Two counts of aggravated domestic violence.

Jantzen will arraign him at 9 a.m. Oct. 28.

• Howard Irving Peach III: Two counts of possession of dangerous drugs, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Carlisle was assigned the case.

• Christopher Evan Bourret and Kelsey Evan Bourret: Possession of marijuana for sale, more than four pounds; production of marijuana, more than four pounds; misconduct involving weapons, second-degree money laundering and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Conn was assigned the cases.

• James Elvero Acret Jr.: possession of narcotics for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jantzen was assigned the case.

• Nathaniel Lee Brook: Kidnapping by domestic violence, sexual assault by domestic violence and aggravated assault by domestic violence.

Carlisle will arraign him at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 23.

• Cynthia G. Molines: Criminal damage and two misdemeanor counts of DUI.

Carlisle will arraign her at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 23.

• John Thomas Long: Aggravated assault by domestic violence, disorderly conduct involving a weapon by domestic violence, resisting arrest and two counts of aggravated assault.

• Shunda Louise Catalano: Two counts of possession of dangerous drugs and false report to law enforcement (misdemeanor).

Conn was assigned the case.

• Leonardo Blanco-Ramos: Transportation of marijuana for sale, more than two pounds and possession of drug paraphernalia. Conn was assigned the case.

• Gregory Alan Jones: Bribery of public servant and misdemeanor counts of DUI and resisting arrest.

Carlisle will arraign him at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 23.
