The Fifth Annual Race to Remember was held by the Lingenfelter Center to raise money for resident's activities and field trips to places ranging from the local bowling alley to Laughlin. About 80 racers came out Oct. 4 to run an 8K route along the Cerbat Cliffs Golf Course area. Amy Elsbury started the event five years ago and ran the race Saturday. One of the senior care center's residents was grand marshal and the Lee Williams High School football team helped lead and raise money for the race. Kristen Ott organized the event and wanted to send a big thank you to all the racers, staff, and sponsors who made it possible. Among the racers present Saturday was Julee Lynch, who had her feet smashed in a car accident last Christmas Eve and was told she might never walk again. A Race to Remember was her first race since then. From left to right, Jo-Ann Schoch, Debra Sixta and Lynch raise their arms in victory after all completed the race.
