Shots fired at vehicles of Kingman officer, Mohave County deputy

KINGMAN - Kingman police seek the public's help in identifying the person who shot at an officer's patrol unit while it was parked at his home Saturday night.

The incident occurred in the area of Southern Avenue and Washington Street at about 10:50 p.m., according to KPD spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki.

The officer was just inside the door of his home at the time of the shooting, she said. Nobody was injured and the suspect's vehicle was described as a light-colored SUV.

This was the second law enforcement vehicle to be shot at over the weekend.

Sochocki said a Mohave County Sheriff's Office unit was shot at in Dolan Springs on Friday. Sochocki said it is unknown if the two incidents are related. Nobody was injured in that incident either.

Sochocki said Silent Witness has offered a reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to the apprehension of the person or persons responsible.
