KINGMAN - Redshirt freshman John Herrero (Kingman Academy, 2013) has started to make a difference on the defensive line for the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks (1-1).

In NAU's season opening loss at San Diego State, Herrero recorded two tackles and was credited with half of a sack for a 5-yard loss.

The Lumberjacks rebounded with a 27-21 win at Abilene Christian Saturday, hanging on after building a 24-7 lead. Herrero did not play.

Casson off to quick start

Sophomore Natalie Casson (Kingman, 2013) is off to a quick start for the Le Moyne College Dolphins volleyball team, an NCAA Division II program in Syracuse, N.Y., that plays in the Northeast-10 Conference.

Le Moyne went 2-2 at the East Stroudsburg (Pa.) Invitational over the weekend. The Dolphins defeated Wilmington and Bowie State, but fell to ESU and Fairmont State.

Casson leads the team with 53 kills and seven aces, and is credited with winning 62 of the team's 227 points.
