KINGMAN - Kingman Regional Medical Center has welcomed Dr. Brent Bedke to the center's clinical laboratory.
As a pathologist, Bedke is an expert in identifying diseases through laboratory analysis of tissue samples, bone marrow, blood and other body fluids.
Often, pathologists are the experts that make a definitive diagnosis of a disease.
Bedke received his doctorate in medicine from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City and completed a four-year residency in pathology and a one-year fellowship in cytopathology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
Pathology expertise is essential to the proper diagnosis, treatment and management of many health conditions and diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
"As pathologists, we usually don't have personal contact with the patients we serve," Bedke said in a statement. "However, we're highly accountable to the patient and their doctors to assure all test results are extremely accurate.
