Eagle project focuses on gathering clothes for the needy

KINGMAN - Joshua Taflan's Eagle Scout project aims to help clothe those who need it, and he can use the community's help.

Taflan is working with Grace Lutheran Church to put on a clothing outreach drive through April. The goal is to distribute two full sets of clothing and a new pair of socks to people requesting a clothing donation during distribution times. There are no requirements to receive a donation.

The community donated all the clothing and the socks are bought through cash donations to his project.

"There's a need for it," said Taflan.

The distribution starts April 14, but organizers want to round up more clothing donations as well as cash to purchase socks. Anybody interested in donating lightly used clothing or cash for socks can do so through the main office at Grace Lutheran Church, 2101 Harrison St. in Kingman. Taflan and his team will be distributing clothes during the following dates and times:
