Florence Creter (1917 - 2015)
Florence Creter, 97, passed away on Good Friday, April 3, 2015, in Kingman, with her loving family by her side. She was born in New Haven, Conn., on July 10, 1917, daughter of Joseph and Amelia (Cotone) Corbo.
Married to the late Edwin Creter for over 35 years, she lived in Bridgeport and worked in the surrounding area most of her life.
She retired after 26 years from Robertshaw in Milford in 1977. Florence retired to Tucson and later moved to Kingman, where she has lived for the past 28 years. She loved to play bingo with her daughters and friends, shop, go for a drive and was an avid traveler, visiting her loving family, whom she adored and they her.
Florence was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves two daughters, Johanna and her husband, Thomas Anamasi, of Kingman and Dianne and her husband, Mark Petrino, of Rock Hill, S.C. She also leaves eight grandchildren: Laura Hamill, Lynn and Thomas Anamasi, Mark, Matthew, Peter, Lisa (Rondeau) and Steven Petrino; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Florence was one of six children. Her youngest sister, Lucille, resides in Kingman. Florence was predeceased by her eldest daughter, Edwina (Winnie) Dempkowski, and grandson, Chester Dempkowski.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date. The family wishes to thank her doctors, nurses and all the medical staff at KRMC for making her comfortable and loved in her final days.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to the Joan and Diana Hospice House, 812 Airway Ave., Kingman, AZ 86409.
