One day, two wrecks on Interstate 40 around Kingman

KINGMAN - Interstate 40 east of Kingman was a parking lot for motorists Tuesday afternoon after three tractor-trailers were involved in a collision shortly before 3 p.m. near milepost 90.

One person was flown to a hospital and another taken by ground ambulance, neither with life-threatening injuries, according to Arizona Highway Patrol trooper Timothy Case.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, said Case. The road was completely blocked until about 7:10 p.m., he said.

A single-car rollover closer to home occurred at about 10:40 p.m. when a driver for unknown reasons left the road and rolled into the center dirt median on I-40 between the Beale Street and Stockton Hill Road exits.

Case said the driver was treated for minor injuries at Kingman Regional Medical Center and later released.
