Alleged marijuana traffickers indicted on various charges

KINGMAN - Alleged marijuana traffickers dominated the attention of grand jurors last week, with nine men named in five separate indictments.

They are:

• Irvin Jamal Walker and Rodney Ray Wilson, both 25 and from Baton Rouge, La.;

• Noel Rodriguez, 50, and Julio Rodriguez Chavez, 25, of Fairfield, Calif.;

• Andrew Kiley Frederick, 29, and Michael Joseph Stefanson, 28, of Newton, Ala.;

• Bee Lee, 62, and Bee Moua, 37, of Denver;

• and Joseph Robert Waltz, 33, of Challenge, Calif.

Mohave County Sheriff's deputies or Kingman Police stopped the men on Interstate 40 between mileposts 48 and 53, with most occurring at milepost 51, and all of them allegedly bringing loads of pot from California, ranging from six pounds to 165 pounds. In all, local law enforcement officers in November seized nearly 300 pounds of marijuana on the interstate in Kingman and made more than a dozen arrests.

The men face felony counts of possession of marijuana for sale (more than four pounds), transportation of marijuana for sale (more than two pounds) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Waltz was additionally indicted on possession of narcotics for sale and transportation of narcotics for sale. Noel Rodriguez was additionally indicted on a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest for allegedly trying to run from officers. Frederick and Stefanson were additionally indicted on a felony count of misconduct involving weapons for allegedly possessing a firearm during a drug crime.

Judge Lee Jantzen will arraign Rodriguez and Chavez at 8:30 a.m. Dec. 15. He will arraign Walker and Wilson at 11 a.m. Friday. Judge Steven Conn will arraign Waltz at 8:30 a.m. Monday. Judge Billy Sipe will arraign Frederick, Stefanson, Lee and Moua at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

The Mohave County Grand Jury also indicted:

• Steven Edward Simmons: Two counts of child molestation, sexual conduct with a minor under 15 years of age and sexual abuse of a minor under 15 years of age.

Jantzen will arraign him at 8:30 a.m. Friday.

• Jacob Ryan Grock: Second-degree burglary, theft of means of transportation, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Conn will arraign him at 8:30 a.m. Monday.

• Michelle Florence Parks: Promoting prison contraband.

Conn will arraign her at 8:30 a.m. Monday

• Mark Henry Denny Jr.: Misconduct involving weapons.

Sipe will arraign him at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

• Joseph Michael Horn: Possession of drug paraphernalia and four misdemeanors: disorderly conduct by domestic violence, assault by domestic violence, interfering with judicial proceedings by domestic violence and driving on a suspended driver's license.

Sipe will arraign him at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

• Dragan Graves Drndarski and Heather Jane Smith: Fraudulent schemes and artifices and two counts of forgery. Drndarski was additionally indicted on a count of child abuse and aggravated assault.

Conn will arraign them at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
