KINGMAN - Mike and Jenny Kim, center, on Monday became the 999,999th and 1 millionth persons to visit Grand Canyon West in 2015.

Owned by the Hualapai Tribe, Grand Canyon West is home to the Skywalk, the Hualapai River Runners (two of whom are with the Kims in the photo), and the Hualapai Lodge.

"This is a very special moment for the Grand Canyon West, the (Grand Canyon Resort Corporation), and for all of our employees," said Sherry Counts, chairwoman of the tribal council.

The milestone was reached four days after officials thought it would be, but 2015 proved to be a record-breaking year for the tourist attraction, which greeted 120,000 more visitors than it did last year.
