Letter: It's time for a convention of the states

Politicians in D.C. and across the country are disrespecting our police, using the media to promote lies and a lynch-mob atmosphere. No wonder the elite political class is so dysfunctional. Why is it we don't matter? Only special interests and crony capitalists with money and power rule. And we wonder why we we're left to foot the bill for the waste and mistakes they make. There has to be another way, because voting the right people in hasn't worked.

It's time for "we the people" to obey the Constitution's Article V and call on our state legislators to sign the application for a convention of states to amend the Constitution. Wouldn't term limits on Congress and the Supreme Court begin the healing? How about an amendment to balance the budget? Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus and it goes by the name of ConventionOfStates.com.
