Bertram (Bert) Walker passed away Jan. 2, 2015, at his home in Bullhead City. He was born May 9, 1940, to Albert Henry and Mary Elizabeth (Ward) Walker in Coldwater, Mich.
Bert graduated from Bronson High School in Bronson, Mich., in 1958 and obtained associates' degrees in drafting and business. He came to Phoenix in 1986 from Fort Wayne, Ind. He then relocated to Mohave County in 2002, where he lived for 14 years before his death. Bert did many different things for work. He was a purchasing agent, owned his own business, and was a long-haul truck driver.
He was a member of the Teamsters and the Carpenters Union in Mesa.
Bert is survived by his wife, Mary (Edwards) Walker of Bullhead City; sons, Scott, James, Jim, John and Jason; daughters, Kathy and Mikell (Kelly); and sister, Mary Lou (Walker) Jurgenson of South Bend, Ind. He had 16 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins in multiple states all over the country.
Bert was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gerald Walker.
Visitation took place at 9 a.m. on Jan. 9, with services following directly afterward. He was laid to rest in Mountainview Cemetery in Kingman. Sutton Memorial Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Per Bert's wishes, he was interned in Kingman to remain close to his wife and children.
