Armed would-be intruder forced away from door

KINGMAN - A Kingman woman was able to keep an armed and masked intruder out of her home Sunday night and the Mohave County Sheriff's Office needs the public's help in apprehending the suspect.

According to sheriff's office spokeswoman Trish Carter, the woman answered a knock at the back door of her home in the 1700 block of Gordon Drive just past 7:15 p.m. When she answered the knock, a male placed a gun to her head and told her to get back in her home and to "not make a sound."

She slammed the door and he was unable to gain entry, said Carter. The man is described as 5-foot-6 with brown and blond hair in a buzz cut. A black bandana covered his face and he was wearing black pants, black boots and a blue jacket.

Carter said the man is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (928) 753-0753 or Silent Witness at (928) 753-1234.
