Megan Gaul, 17, was selected to be a Student Rotarian by the Kingman Rotary Club. She is the daughter of Joan and Mike Gaul.
Megan said that being selected as a Student Rotarian is one of her greatest achievements, as being recognized in this way helps her realize that hard work pays off, and that becoming involved in high school was one of the smartest decisions she's ever made.
The topic of her presentation to the Rotary Club will be herself, explaining everything she's ever been involved in and how it has influenced her and made her who she is today.
She has won multiple awards and achieved many things, including: a biology award, an algebra II award, Most Improved and Most Inspirational in volleyball, and Most Valuable Player in cross country. She is a member of MCC's Dean's List, Renaissance and Top Dawg, was Athlete of the Month, Homecoming Queen, an America's Homecoming Queen participant, vice president of the student council, vice president of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Link Leaders, a peer mediator, a volleyball captain, a soccer captain, a softball captain and the 4H Interstate Exchange Club president. She has participated in city-wide races including Cam Bam, Race for Hospice and the Turkey Trot.
Megan plans to attend the University of Arizona for engineering, but has not yet decided on a major. She says she is leaning toward engineering because she loves math and science.
Megan has not chosen a specific career path but she indicated she'd like to find something that could challenge her while also providing her with something she loves to do.
