KINGMAN - The Kingman High School Drama department opens their winter play at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Kingman High School auditorium.

This year they will be performing a modern retelling of "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare.

"By bringing the setting, costumes, and characters into modern day, I believe the message of this piece can be read clearly: everyone can change," said director Clare Schroeder.

"Through the use of minimalism in sets, color coordination, and heavy lighting, we were able to bring a new face to this show, bouncing it from 1600 to 2014."

The show runs through Saturday. Admission is $3 for students and $5 for adults.
