Carol Elizabeth Thompson, 73, of Kingman, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, June 23. She was born March 8, 1942, in Des Plaines, Ill., the second child of Harry and Olga Walsh.

She moved from Illinois to Phoenix at age 10 with her parents and at age 11 they moved to Kingman. Carol graduated with the class of 1960 from Mohave County Union High School in Kingman.

Carol worked at Dairy Queen, A&W and Sears in the 1960s. She fell in love with and married Verl Lee Thompson on Aug. 22, 1965. They had three children together. After 31 years of marriage, Verl preceded her in death on April 14, 1996.

She is survived by her three children, Zack Kevin Grimm, Karen Pacleb (Neal) and Keith Thompson. Grandchildren are Kevin Grimm, Keona and Keahi Pacleb, and Kayla, Keith and Kalvin Thompson. Sisters and brothers are Thomas Walsh (Jutta), Florence Cunningham, Susan Olson (Ron deceased), Kathleen Allmon (Kenn deceased), Timothy Walsh (Denise), Lynn Donohoe (Duane) and Terry Walsh ( Sherry).

Sisters and brothers-in-law are Sharon Mabry (George deceased), Monte "Butch" Thompson (Carol) and Leann Bowman (Ron deceased). There are also numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol is and always will be missed and loved by her family and friends. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt and grandmother. Very humble and generous to a fault and would go without to make sure her children always had the best. Her joy was serving the Lord and taking care of her family.

She instilled in her children a foundation of faith as believers in Christ Jesus and with that foundation we confess with our tongue Jesus is Lord and are assured we will be together again for all eternity. Carol was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church.

Psalm 4:8: "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: For thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety."

Psalm 91:2: "I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust."

Services will be held beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, 4045 N. Van Nuys Road, Kingman. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1301 Stockton Hill Road.
