Susan (Susie) Lynn Griffith-Barbour of Kingman passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2015, in Scottsdale. Susie was born Jan. 4, 1951, in El Centro, Calif., to Carl and Billie Jean Griffith.
The Griffith family moved to Kingman in 1957. Susie graduated from Kingman High School in 1969. She received her associate's degree from Mohave Community College on May 13, 1994.
Susie was adventurous and fulfilled her love of travel by serving as a transcontinental airline stewardess.
Susie was a very special person, always there for her son (Blake), family and friends. Even strangers in need were helped by her generous nature.
We will greatly miss her wonderful sense of humor. She kept us laughing with antics, which sometimes included costumes and masks.
She was passionate and loving with all animals. She washed and donated blankets to the animal shelters. She saved and raised two feral kittens. When Carl Jr. passed she took his two dogs and raised them as her own.
We will miss her more than words can express, but appreciate the time we were blessed to have with her. All who came in to her life over the years are also saddened because of her kind, compassionate and loving heart.
Susie is survived by her mother, Billie Jean; sister Nancy Griffith-Terhaar; nephew Darrin Bracken; niece Janell Griffith-Abraham; and aunt Neda Cook.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Griffith Sr.; brother Carl Griffith Jr.; and son Blake Allen Barbour.
The family will be forever grateful to Susie's niece, Janell, for her wonderful care of Susie and also to Nancy Griffith-Terhaar, Susie's sister, for her love and devotion during this very sad time.
We love you so much, Susie.
