Alice Fairlene Forsyth-Arends-Lindstrom, born Oct. 20, 1922, died March 13, 2015.
Alice was a descendent of the Scotland Forsyth Clan. She was very proud of her Scottish heritage. She was born to the parents of Lamont Ripley Forsyth and Jessie Alice Torrens-Forsyth of Olney, Ill. Alice was born in Wheaton, Ill. on Oct. 20, 1922. She had three siblings, Robert Forsyth (deceased), Joy Forsyth-Davison, and Lamont B. Forsyth. Her parents moved to Olney, Ill. when she was 4 years old.
She graduated from O.T.H.S. in 1941. She married James L. Arends on Oct. 4, 1946, in East St. Louis, Ill. They had two daughters: Jessie Alice Arends-Munz and Forsythia Ann Arends-Keller.
Her husband worked in the oil fields. They moved to DeKalb, Ill., in 1961 but always called Olney her hometown.
In DeKalb she worked at M.F. Malones as a bookkeeper for about 25 years. She spent her 80th birthday in Scotland traveling with her daughter Forsythia. The last two and half years of her life were spent in Kingman under the care of her daughter Forsythia.
Alice had four grandchildren: Timothy Munz and his wife, Dana, Tracie Munz-Peteyka-Maillet, Mike and Agnes Keller, and John and SueAlice Keller. She had 17 great-great-grandchildren and one new great-great-great-granddaughter. As per her request, cremation will take place at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home in Kingman. May she rest in peace, she will be greatly missed by all.
