Fern E. Potter, age 97, passed away on March 26, 2015. She was born Dec. 22, 1917, in Minnesota to Fred and Amelia Gaard.
Fern graduated high school in Chippewa Falls, Wis., in 1934 and was a retail clerk for over 35 years. She came to Kingman from Hesperia, Calif., and has remained here for 23 years. She was an esteemed Red Hat/Purple Prose and a member of the Grace Lutheran Church.
Fern was predeceased by her parents and a daughter, Norene (Dan) Fibrow of Hesperia, Calif.
She is survived by her son, Nick (Bonnie) Irwin, of Lake Havasu City and Detroit, Ore.; daughter, Nancy (Richard) Nelson of Spokane, Wash.; son, Raymond Irwin of Kingman; and daughter, Janet (Dan) Butts of Kingman; as well as 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank KRMC Hospice and Dr. Narayanaswamy Deepak for all their help.
A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, at Grace Lutheran Church, 2101 Harrison St., Kingman, AZ 86401, with services immediately following at 11 a.m.
Fern was a wonderful, adventurous and loving woman. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Grace Lutheran Church Youth Group.
