KINGMAN - Emmanuel Christian Academy is offering a free seminar to share information about a new tax credit law in Arizona that will benefit corporation owners.
The seminar will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the academy, located at 3120 Hualapai Mountain Road. Lunch will be provided. All participants must register by calling (928) 681-4220.
All eligible corporate tax credit businesses are invited to send a representative to the seminar. Eligible businesses are S-Corporations, C-Corporations and insurance companies that pay Arizona state taxes on premiums. A representative from the Institute for Better Education will share the details of the program and answer questions.
House Bill 2153 will allow S-Corporations to participate in a tax credit program that until now was only available to C-Corporations. This law allows C and S corporations to receive a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit for money donated to a school tuition organization.
"This bill amounts to an amazing opportunity for private schools, corporation owners, and parents who are looking for other education options," said Robyn Christensen, communications director at the academy.
"More and more states are adopting private school tax credit laws because Arizona has proven that these tax credits work. It saves the state money and empowers families to choose the education option that best meets the needs of their child, while simultaneously alleviating some of the public school overcrowding."
