Warner Burr Howell, 87, passed away in peace and prayer in Kingman on April 20. Warner was born on May 2, 1927, in Needles, Calif., to Chester B. and Nellie W. Howell. He graduated in 1945 from Needles High School, earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from Cal State Berkeley in 1950 and in 1979 was also awarded a master's of business administration degree from Cal State Fullerton. He was a data systems manager for Nissan Motor Corporation, following careers at Kaiser Steel Corporation and General Dynamics.
He married Barbara Jean Ford in Needles in 1948, and after his honorable discharge from the Navy they moved to Upland, Calif., where they lived for 36 years before retiring to Kingman in 1987.
Warner was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, former treasurer of the Kingman Computer User's Group and a Salvation Army Volunteer, and was active in the Lingenfelter Center Alzheimer's Support Group.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Howell; two daughters, Karen Colleen Tidwell and Geralyn Anne Hunt; five grandchildren, Bryan Tatem, Brett Tatem, Matthew Peters, Melissa Pfannenstiel and Kristen Maroste; and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Kingman.
