Vonceil Chachere Trahan

Vonceil Chachere Trahan left this Earth on May 11. She was born on Jan. 16, 1927, in Opelousas, La. Her mother and father, Roland and Sadie Chachere, reared five daughters. Her sisters are Rosemary Rao, NormaLee Dupre, Wilda Dupre (Coty), and Ramona Quirk (deceased). On Sept. 2, 1946, Vonceil married Wilson Joseph "Kite" Trahan (deceased). Their children, Dorian Trahan and Jack Trahan (Terrie) were born in Louisiana before the family moved to Kingman in 1958.

Vonceil is survived by three sisters, two children, and grandchildren Scott Trahan, Noelle Fleming (Paul), Tawnia Trahan and Tanner Trahan (Kristina); and her great-grandchildren, Trinity Fleming, Falyn Fleming and Raelyn Trahan.

Vonceil was very active in our community. She worked at the Chamber of Commerce, volunteered at KRMC, Kingman Republican Women's Club, and was an award-winning golfer, among many other activities.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at Grace Lutheran Church. A reception at the Kingman Elks Lodge will follow at noon.
