Gonzalez signs with Nevada-Reno

KINGMAN - Kingman High senior Desirae Gonzalez followed up on her verbal committment and signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the women's basketball team at the University of Nevada, Reno.

Gonzalez averaged nearly 30 points last season as a junior for the 18-9 Lady Bulldogs.

UNR plays in the NCAA Division I Mountain West Conference.

Tryouts, open gym set by Desert STARS

KINGMAN - Desert STARS volleyball club will be holding tryouts for girls 14-and-younger (junior high or lower) from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the auxiliary gym at Lee Williams High School.

Girls 18-and-younger are invited to open gym that same day from 1 to 3 p.m. Tryouts for this group are scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 21.

Players who pre-register at DesertSTARSvc.com pay $15. Those players who wait to pay at tryouts will pay $20. Parents must be present to fill out paperwork and attend a short parents meeting during the end of tryouts.

KHS girls hoops hosting Navajo Taco sale

KINGMAN - The Kingman High School girls basketball team is hosting a Navajo Taco Sale from 3 to 7 p.m. Nov. 20 in the KHS cafeteria.

Pre-sale tickets are available for Navajo Tacos at $6 and Fry Bread at $3. The prices increase $1 at the door on Nov. 20 to $7 for Navajo Tacos and $4 for Fry Bread.

Tickets are available from any KHS basketball player, or call any of the following numbers and ask for Coach Gonzalez: (928) 692-6480, (928) 699-5087, or (928) 699-4130.

Proceeds from the sale benefit the basketball program. Checks should be made payable to: KUSD #20 KHS Girls Basketball. Limited delivery is available.
