KINGMAN - The Lake Havasu National Wildlife Refuge, Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuge and their Friends Group are hosting a nature photography contest as part of the Refuges' 75th Anniversary on Jan. 22.

The photo contest is open to amateurs and professionals and is free of charge. Photos may feature animals in their natural habitat, plant life, scenic views, and visitors using the refuges for recreation, and must have been taken on one of the refuges within the last two years. There is a limit of one submission per category per person.

Submitted photos will be divided into two age groups: 17 and younger and 18 and over. Photo submissions will be accepted until Jan. 6.

Winners will be announced at a reception for the photographers and the general public at the Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuge on Jan. 23. First, second and third place winners in each of the four categories for both age groups will be decided by a panel of judges.

Submitted photographs will be on display at the Environmental Education Center at Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuge from Jan. 18-23. During this time, visitors will have the opportunity to vote for a favorite photo. The "People's Choice" will be announced at the reception.
