Two cars wreck on I-40

GOLDEN VALLEY - A two-vehicle accident on Interstate 40 on Thanksgiving Day, allegedly caused by a lapse of attention, sent one car into a ditch and another on its side.

Golden Valley Fire District firefighters, the Arizona Department of Public Safety and Mohave County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the accident just before 12:30 p.m. Thursday at mile marker 41 on Interstate 40.

The two vehicles involved were traveling west on the highway when one vehicle rear-ended the other in the left lane. The struck vehicle ended up rolling on its side, while the other vehicle ran off the road into a ditch.

GVFD paramedics treated one occupant for non-life-threatening injuries, and the occupant was transported to Kingman Regional Medical center for further treatment. The two other occupants injured in the accident refused medical treatment.

Arizona DPS is investigating the case.
