KINGMAN - Last basketball season, as a junior, Desirae Gonzalez led the entire state of Arizona in scoring, averaging 29.7 points per game.
The University of Nevada, Reno has been going full tilt to get the high-scoring Lady Bulldog to play for the Lady Wolf Pack, and on Sunday Gonzalez verbally committed to UNR.
The sharpshooter was named to the Division II Girls Basketball First Team and was named section and Colorado River Region player of the year.
Gonzalez is scheduled to officially sign with UNR on Nov. 11.
Gonzalez also averaged 10.7 rebounds, 4.9 steals, 3.4 assists and 1.7 blocks per game for the 18-9 Lady Bulldogs.
She'll be suiting up for the 2016-2017 season with Lady Wolf Pack coach Jane Albright, who is in her eighth season at Nevada.
The NCAA Division I Wolf Pack went 9-21 overall and 5-13 in the Mountain West Conference last season.
Gonzalez and the Lady Bulldogs open the 2015-2016 season Nov. 23 at Kingman Academy.
