Lady Tiger swimmers net two wins

All three of area's volleyball teams get spiked

KINGMAN - The Kingman Academy Lady Tigers swim team cut through the water with little resistance in earning a sweep Tuesday at Del Webb Wellness Center. Academy defeated MALC, 50-18, and Kingman, 49-33.

Though all three teams swam events at the same time, dual meet scores were kept. The Lady Tigers (3-0) did get overall in the 200-yard medley relay (Kayleigh Wright, Stasi White, Sofia Depner and Montana Carrier), 200 freestyle (Victoria Depner), 200 individual medley (S. Depner), 100 butterfly (White), 100 freestyle (Carrier), 500 freestyle (S. Depner), 200 freestyle relay (Carrier, White, Wright, V. Depner), 100 backstroke (Wright), 100 breaststroke (White), and the 400 freestyle relay (S. Depner, Wright, Carrier and V. Depner).

The Kingman Lady Bulldogs earned an overall win in the 50 freestyle by Meghan Yingling.

The Kingman Bulldogs boys team earned a forfeit win over the Academy. The Bulldogs got meet wins in the 200 freestyle (Rendall Pace), 100 freestyle (Conner Mahlmeister), 100 backstroke (Chance Robertson) and the 400 freestyle relay (Robertson, Pace, C. Mahlmeister, and Tanner Mahlmeister).

Kingman and the Academy both dry off until the Kingman Academy Invitational Sept. 19 at the Wellness Center.

VOLLEYBALL

Lady Vols handed first loss

Mohave showed it's a program on an upward trend after defeating Lee Williams Tuesday in Bullhead City. Mohave (4-0 Division IV) won three out of four sets, 25-13, 25-15, 10-25, 25-18. The loss was the first of the year for Lee Williams (2-1 D-III).

Sophomore setter Sadie Snay led the Lady Vols with 12 kills and nine assists. Freshman Chania Scott had seven blocks, and sophomore Tori Logan was perfect serving, making 20-of-20.

Lee Williams played at Lake Havasu (0-1 D-III) Wednesday. Results were not available by deadline. The Lady Vols host Northwest Christian (2-1), a 3-0 winner over Kingman Tuesday, at 6 p.m. today.

Northwest handles KHS

Northwest (2-1) gave the Kingman Lady Bulldogs more than they could handle in a 25-14, 25-8, 25-8 Division III win Tuesday at KHS. Kingman (0-2) next plays at the Mary Jo Goldey Invitational and looks to gain some momentum in Lake Havasu City Saturday.

Senior Desirae Gonzalez had three kills and three blocks for the Lady Bulldogs against Northwest, and senior Catherine Angle added three assists and three aces in the loss.

Trivium sweeps Lady Tigers

Kingman Academy was swept by Trivium Prep (1-2) in a D-IV contest Tuesday in Goodyear. Trivium took down the Lady Tigers 25-9, 25-19, 25-15.

Freshman Isabel Anderson led the Lady Tigers with six kills and three aces. Sophomore Shaunti Short had 15 assists.

Academy hosts Joy Christian (3-0) in another D-IV match-up at 6 p.m. today.
