Lady Vols show improvement, go 2-1 in pool play

KINGMAN - Two days removed from a five-set loss to Bradshaw Mountain in Prescott Valley, the Lee Williams volleyball team bounced back to defeat Bradshaw at the Estrella Foothills Invitational in Goodyear Friday.

The Lady Vols also beat Empire, but lost to Agua Fria to go 2-1. It was good enough for Lee Williams to reach the top 12 and play in the championship bracket Saturday. Results were not available by deadline.

Last year, the Lady Vols finished 22nd out of 24 teams.

"It's exciting to see the improvement," said LWHS volleyball coach Traci Rosenbach. "There are some awesome teams here, so it's a great experience for them."

Lee Williams (3-3 Division III) resumes the regular season at River Valley at 6 p.m. Monday.
