Letter: Duel and duality

Recently I came across the following quote by Tony Campolo: "God created us in his image, but we have decided to return the favor and create a God who is in our image."

Anthony "Tony" Campolo is an American sociologist, pastor, author, public speaker and former spiritual advisor to U.S. President Bill Clinton. Campolo is known as one of the most influential leaders in the evangelical left and has been a major proponent of progressive thought and reform within the evangelical community. He has also become a leader of the Red-Letter Christian Movement, which aims to put emphasis on the teachings of Jesus. Campolo is a popular commentator on religious, political and social issues, and has been a guest on programs such as The Colbert Report, The Charlie Rose Show, Larry King Live, Nightline, Crossfire, Politically Incorrect and The Hour.

As I stated in previous letters, in the beginning God created heaven and earth. He created humankind for the sole purpose to establish a relationship. God purposely created us in his image, meaning to be righteous; to be morally good; virtuous: a righteous person/action, just, good, moral, worthy, honorable, upright, fair, ethical, honest, law-abiding, blameless, irreproachable, uncorrupted, guiltless, God-fearing, saintly, pure and sinless.

As I have seen over the years and as I read in the book of Genesis, humankind has created a god in their image.

As I have been aware most of my life there are always two sides and our two natures. What I call a duel duality - a battle between good and evil in light of our old Adam and new Adam.

Matthew 15:3: But he answered and said unto them, why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?
