LWHS boys golf sinks Kingman

Lady Bulldogs volleyball falls to Mohave in four sets

KINGMAN - Lee Williams High boys golf team shot 158 to beat Kingman by 70 strokes Thursday at Cerbat Cliffs Golf Course.

Lee Williams' Cole Morton was medalist with an even-par 36. He was followed by Corey Smith (38), Richard Serrano (42) and Brandon Carver (42).

"I continue to be impressed by sophomore Cole Morton and the development of his game," said LWHS boys golf coach Stephen Shuffler. "This was a true testament of his hard work and dedication to this team."

Derek Brown led Kingman with a 49. Matthew Mendez (57), Hayden Tanner (59) and Tanner Best (63) rounded out the Bulldogs' scoring.


Mohave takes Kingman in four

Mohave (8-1) swept all three Kingman teams this week, finishing the task by beating Kingman High 3-1 in Bullhead City Thursday 25-23, 25-18, 23-25, 25-14.

"For the most part, we kept up with Mohave," said KHS volleyball coach Danielle Walker. "Our missed serves and serve-receive errors got the best of us again."

Desirae Gonzalez led Kingman (0-6) with 16 kills and six digs. Kim Carroll finished with 10 kills, Courtney Mossor had 13 assists, and Anyssa Fuhrmeister finished with five digs.

"They worked hard and played well to stick with Mohave," Walker said. "We let the fourth game slip away with too many mistakes."

The Lady Bulldogs host Bradshaw Mountain (4-4) at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
